Hogarth's L.E.D. bulbs combined with our battery option, are the only viable battery picture light product on the market today.
You get 30 hours of use from 1 charge and 2 battery packs (1 in use and 1 charging ready to use). Recharge time is 1 hour.
We would personally suggest the rechargeable battery to be used as a last resort and would strongly recommend the Invisible Wire system as a much better way to get power to your picture lights. With the Invisible wire system you do need to paint over the copper track, this will not work with wallpapered walls (you do need to paint over the copper track, this will not work with wallpapered walls).
Another alternative is our Thin Wire. A small cable that can be hidden around beams or picture rails and available in a range of colours.
Hanging paintings correctly is very important. A painting should hang away from the wall (at the top) by 1 or 2 inches. This is to ensure that dust in the air does not settle on the canvas. On old paintings corks from wine bottles were glued to the back of the frame at the top, this also reduces the reflection from windows and lights. In the 18th and 19th centuries (before picture lights) frames were designed to reduce dust settlement and the ornate additions and angles were to help throw light across the canvas. Gilding enhanced this effect.
The best solution for lighting paintings is to have the electric available behind, in a recess box. This is normally installed by an electrician. A plug can be fitted or hard wired into the box. The switch for the lighting can then be by the entrance door.
Hogarth's L.E.D. option is the ultimate fine art picture lighting solution. Giving a warm light with zero U.V. and heat. All of our L.E.D. picture lights are dimmable with a Lutron or Crestron system and most other automatic lighting systems, but can not be dimmed from a 240V switch. Incandescent and Halogen light emit some U.V. and in some cases heat. It is not advisable to use these types of bulbs for fine art.
We do not fit plugs on our 'Mains' direct wire power option.
We can supply plugs. If you require a plug/s please contact us with your requirements.
The best solution for lighting paintings is to have the electric available behind the painting/s in a recess box.
This is normally installed by an electrician and hard wired into a box. (We do not fit plugs on our 'Mains' option) Therefore the switch for the lighting can be by the entrance door.
Individual paintings can then have a bulb with a wattage that suits the painting. All our transformers have different intensity settings.
When a light-emitting diode is forward-biased (switched on), electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy gap of the semiconductor."
Zero U.V., Zero heat, low power and long life.
If your Fine Art is valuable and you are concerned regarding U.V. filters, heat filters or the size of picture light to suit your painting. The Hogarth L.E.D. picture light is the only option to eliminate all U.V. and heat onto the canvas.
The complete fine art picture lighting solution.
Our L.E.D. picture lights have been in development for many years. To date L.E.D. technology have not been able to match the Incandescent/Halogen light output. Development carried out by Hogarth with a leading L.E.D. manufacturer has resulted in an L.E.D. to 200 Lumen (equivalent to 40 watts incandescent) with the same temperature output of 2600 Kelvin and up to 5500 Kelvin for marine paintings.
We can supply many ranges of bulb temperature to suit your art work/s. Please let us have a description of your painting/s or email a digital photograph before ordering, where we will add the best suited color bulb to your picture light, there is no charge for this. Our standard picture lights are 2600K (Incandescent) in temperature.
Conforming to the Global Museum standard for LUX (Brightness) levels with zero U.V. and zero heat, this development has taken the Illumination of fine art to a new high.
Power output is 50% less than low energy saving bulbs available, just seven Volts.
We source and supply the best quality transformers available.
Our picture lights can be dimmed if there is an automatic lighting system like Lutron or Crestron; where there are two control cables installed as well as 110V. Check with your installation Company. Our picture lights will not dim from a 110V dimmer switch.
Setup for dimming.
